Pros

The claims department is a salaried position

Cons

Uber company culture is very much like a phraternity or sorority environment. If you don't participate in the child-like shenanigans, you will not fit in. During my employment at the company, I experiencedme that it is an overall sexism, racism, classism, and major ageism if you were not upper management. The temporary interns make more than permanent employees doing the same exact jobs. About $7-10/hr more. It is very hard to move up because it is mostly based on favortism, performance is a solid 2nd or 3rd factor for promotions. Worst experience is that they will have you: create a job/department, teach your boss how to do it, train other employees how to do it, make you apply to the job you created, then tell you that you aren't qualified to do the job you created from scratch. I saw this happen MANY times. Worst job I have ever had, to date. They also take the 'free' credits they give you to use Uber/UberEats then make you pay taxes on it. This is deducted from your check and you are not informed until you question the reduction in compensation.

Pros

I love being able to work around truly passionate people who are ready to change the world. The culture is great, free snacks and food is big plus. I had the opportunity to take ownership of projects within my first month

Cons

The hours are much longer than any other job I've worked in, but this is expected to change as we continue hiring more help
