Pros
Fair treatment, good benefits, coworkers can be excellent but it is hit-or-miss depending on: the department you are working in, your managing clinician, your scheduler.
Cons
Unless you're a manager or a physician, your job is very robotic. You will be doing more or less the same exact thing every day you work. There may be an unexpected surprise along the way but...it's really just the same ol' thang with a different flavor put on top. There is little recognition for performance. If you are efficient, your reward will just be picking up the slack for others around you. Finally, if you are spending time among nurses, brace yourself (heavily) for endless banter about upcoming weddings and babies. It's like working among housewives who happened to get a job.
