Pros

Flexible schedule, great benefits and retirement plan, decent people. Work life was good, not great

Cons

At a state school everyone is treated the same. This goes equally for the idiots and the work horses. Salary is low, but you know that going in. There is zero advancement to the upper levels as university careers are based on degrees/education and NOT actual experience or ability to perform at a job.

Pros

Respect between colleagues and bosses

Cons

The pay is not very competitive, but it is only a student research assistant position and is more about the experience
