Pros
The best reason to work for the navy is that you are given the opportunity to help other people and protect the nation. The work is mostly rewarding, although you may frequently feel that you could do more if given enough latitude.
Cons
The hours are long, deployment schedules are frequent and arduous, the people you work with may or may not be competent. The tough thing is that in the navy, you aren't in a position to fire people for incompetence or for lack of effort. A person has to make a serious mistake or commit a serious crime to be fired.
