Pros
The benefits of being in the military are good. Healthcare, pension, etc are taken care of. There is something to be said working with a lot of good people for the most part.
Cons
Deployments and spending months away from your family is the major downside, but that comes with the job. The military puts a lot of stress on you, which can help you grow, but a lot of it is completely unnecessary. The performance and ranking systems are outdated, as well as the technology we are expected to use, and everybody is "responsible" for their own currencies, knowledge, etc. There is a reason society has specialized, so we can be more efficient.
