Travel the world (not just Iraq and Afghanistan!) and interact with some of the sharpest professionals from other gov't agencies, services, and allied and partner nations. Challenging and rewarding for the adventurous and resilient. Great pay and unbeatable benefits.
Cons
If staying put is a priority, the military is not for you. 2-4 year stints is typical, with 3 years in one location the standard. Children move from school to school and learn to make new friends and stay connected with old with social websites. Deployments require time away from family, but proper planning and preparation and a positive attitude ease the separation.
