Pros
This company bio needs an update as Phil Male has not run this company now for several years. The company has been run by John Morris for at least 2 years now along with the Finance Director Adam Kilgor, they run all aspects of the UK2 Group at least fro the UK office at least. Location in London is great, the area of Shoreditch means that there is always something fun happening in very close proximity to the UK2 Head Office. - You get Free fruit delivered each Tuesday - A fridge stocked with all your healthy fizzy drinks. - Free tea - Free coffee - Free water (You get paid at the end of the month, there are people in the world with nothing lets not forget) Great staff, the original ones, they make the company.
Cons
This would lead to a very long list. No Wifi unless you are management (This from an Internet company) 6-10 years old desktops and monitors (This from an Internet company) The company has no direction as to where it is going. There are more people leaving than being recruited and a office that once held over 30 staff to now having slightly over 10. The once spacious office is now less than half of what it was adding to colleagues working ontop of each other and a rather dangerous office at that due to the cabling that has been left around etc. The company no longer has that fun vibe anymore and you are left with a CEO who simply puts on staffing events as a formality but you can see the strain on his face as he tries to look engaged to the staff. The company is called UK2 and comprises of UK2.net, 100TB, Vi.net, VPS.net and a number of American brands but it would be fair to say that the main company operations are managed in the Utah office. Support is run from there as is the Sales and many other departments. The irony in the name would at least have you thinking that you are using a UK based company but with more and more teams being moved to the States where there is cheaper labour, this will not be the case for long. In the space of just over 2 years, I had the pleasure of having x 3 Global Sales directors based in the States, this made our jobs extremely difficult as there was always fairer treatment given to the US teams. The company are truly not interested in how the staff feel and HR itself is managed in the States so really you have nobody to speak to should you really have a genuine concern. Every measure of the business is to cut costs, the once UK based Technical Support was moved Stateside along with the Billing Team, to people with little or no experience with the company. This all combinates to the customers suffering as a result. Those of you still considering after reading all of this, do also understand that there is ZERO career progression within this company this is of course unless you are perhaps from the Elite Class and you have a family connection on the board or Director level, this way you will see your rise to the top faster than the sun rising each day. I have seen people who have worked for 10 years and more and unless you are in with the Clique of which there really isn't one anymore, you will not be going anywhere other than possibly side-ways as you may have to take on the responsibility and tasks for another person who had left and their job not been replaced. This happened time and time again in my many years of employment with this company.
