Pros
Separate 14 day PTO bank for military leave. Reasonable compensation, 3% a year increase with possibility to reach level 3 within your scope in one year with 9% pay raise. In total received 12% increase in pay in one year. Good medical/dental/vision and employer contributions to retirement. Reasonable PTO accrual. 5 hours per 2 weeks, increase to 7 hours per 2 weeks after a year. Most providers work 4 ten hour days, good if you like this schedule. Weekends and federal holidays off.
Cons
Chronic understaffing and lack of coordinating float or travel staff. You will not be approved to take unpaid time off if you do not have the PTO. Even if you do have PTO, sometimes they decline you. The usual drama with people that confuse work life with social life. Management/supervisors are generally unhelpful and detached. The usual skipping/working lunch associated with healthcare.
