Pros

Remote, global teams, inclusive, unlimited holiday, some people really did try

Cons

Tyk is company that is becoming more and more toxic by the day. The culture, which is preached by the founders, is rarely followed by them. Some of my worst interactions with senior management ever, came from dealing with these people who spoke to me like dirt and were not prepared to trust me to do the job I was hired for. People who are grossly under-qualified are promoted into roles where they are doomed to fail and as a result. As are the people they manage, people who are usually more qualified than they are. Overworked, demoralised and oppressed staff everywhere you look. I had conversations with three separate female employees about how badly they had been treat in the workplace there. This is simply not acceptable and needs addressing. They are clearly failing to adapt to growth and growing market/customer demands and as a result their staff are taking the hit. Firing people without a proper process and asking them to be quiet for a severance is proof of their failings as a company. They've just let a bunch of people go and the CEO decides to send out a message saying how great the remaining staff's retreat will be. Disgusting, vile and classless behaviour to those who just lost their jobs. My advice - take a little look at the overall trend of reviews for this company before applying. Then don't apply.

Tyk Response

Hello, so sorry to hear this is how you feel, from a business outlook perspective, it is awful to have to let people go and our qualified HR team managed the process fairly and generously, however, I can understand how it can hurt. Although not ideal, these things happen in businesses well bigger than Tyk and smaller than Tyk, especially this year, and it shows the company is foreseeing future risks and planning. As everyone in Tyk is very connected to the company and people, it is the job of the founders to relay a message of explaining future planning and not to dwell too long on negatives, we have to move forward which is what our founders are portraying. I am not sure about the rest of you message as it appears to have a lot of hearsay and our engagement surveys show very high ratings, but again, I understand how this must feel and I wish you all the best!

Pros

The people there really know their stuff when it comes to the platform and the industry.

Cons

You are basically on your own. No real training at all. Overall it feels like a high school clique. The pay & flexibility of the role are NOT worth it.
