Pros
This is a great lab to work in if you'd like to get a lot of hands-on experience with a variety of techniques and equipment. In the past year leadership has focused on developing techs for leadership in the future. I've worked in a few other labs and the experience I've gotten at Tufco is miles above some larger companies in the area.
Cons
Techs are required to cover holidays, even if the plant is closed.
HR has a bad habit of forgetting the labs for any celebrations, rewards, etc. Recently it was the taco trucks, but this has been an ongoing problem since before I was hired.
Equipment is very old, making working nearly impossible.
Large purchases for the lab are scrutinized and sometimes not approved even when much needed.
The labs have not had a Quality Manager for three years and a Lab Lead for over a year. Leadership is cobbled together and not adequately compensated. I have not seen anyone receive a promotion in role in three years.
