Pros
Good pay and benefits compared to other jobs in Tucson, but no overtime compared to most power plants. It seems as though upper management is trying to change the culture, however it is happenning very slow (maybe in 20 years). Good place to get experience since most things are not automated and have to be done manually.
Cons
If you want to do well and are self motivated, you can expect to be bullied. Many people here (operations) don't want to do much, if you're different then expect to be treated as an outsider and have information withheld from you. Most operators don't have any prior formal power plant education, if you do, people seem to be intimidated by it. Best advice is just keep it to yourself. Overtime is also very limited compared to other plants (almost non-existent).
