Pros

Amazing pets and some amazing people. If you work hard, you can move up in the company. If you survive 5 years, you get a sabbatical. Solid benefits as a whole.

Cons

Lots of top-down decision making and self-proclaimed "experts" meddling in areas they have no expertise in. Expectations are unrealistic and it's a culture that values working overtime vs achieving a healthy work schedule. Leadership is reactionary and employees are left in a constant state of disarray with unfocused areas of prioritization (or more commonly asked to prioritized *everything*). No formalized salary review process and salaries across the company are very hidden. If you want a raise you are going to have to beg for it, and will likely be told to just hit your quarterly objectives if you want more money.

Thank you for sharing your honest feedback about your experience with Trupanion. We recognize that this team has gone through tremendous change over the years and that comes with better opportunities to set up the team for success going forward. Compensation is a continuous conversation that we are having at an enterprise level, which includes better education to our leaders and more transparency for our team members on this subject. If you would like to set up a time to chat further and share more insight, I would be happy to meet with you. Please email me at Anna.Berentson@Trupanion.com.

Pros

Very good benefits, especially PTO / Great coworkers with shared "values" (outside of upper mgmt) / Remote Help pets every day

Cons

The co has become another typical corporate greed - no longer cares about customer or staff experience, only the bottom line. Charges premium prices for not so premium insurance, with progressive cut backs in coverage yet continuous policy increases in much too large of percentage (as an employee, I could never afford my own plan). They used to be fantastic, progressive and all-inclusive. Now they keep hide their true behaviors behind a cloak of "transparency" and have lost sight of their own values.
