Pros

1. Jack LoBiondo is superhuman when it comes to managing 3 properties effectively keeping both the employees and the members happy. 2. Benefits (health insurance, 401k, PTO/Vacation time) 3. Perks (staff meal, the ability to golf at 3 courses, employee discount) 4. The atmosphere and environment of the area is inviting, there is a sense of community and family among coworkers and a sense of care and compassion for eachother is something I have only found at one other job (and I have had a lot of experiences with different bosses and places once I started working seasonally for Vail Resorts)

Cons

It was almost impossible to find affordable housing. A lot of service employees have to live out of their vans or bus to afford to work in the area. Even with making very good money most employees, even head chefs and AGM's are not paid appropriately and having to be of service to people who have multiple houses and private jets while the wait staff was living off of two provided staff meals a day, which if im being honest were not great most of the time NOT because the chefs were bad but after Troon took over the price of feeding us was much more of an issue and more limitations were placed on ordering staff to lower costs. The commute up the mountain, especially in winter time was not only dangerous but long. A lot of people, because of rental prices, had to rent 30-50 miles (one way) to be able to afford a small apartment, so a lot of miles are made every day you work. Even if you live at the bottom of the mountain, which 90% of employees cant afford to do, its 10 miles one way up a hill, the top course is at 9200". So between the elk and other big animals that cause wrecks, road conditions in winter time, and the prices of gas its dangerous and financially exhausting getting to work every day.

Pros

There are no pros. Maybe health benefits but that's anywhere.

Cons

Everything. They run a skeleton crew. Hiring temps in the busy season. Constantly having to train a new temp line cook everyday. Line cooks get crazy overtime with check twice the size of mine because of all the overtime. Then when it's slow they cut what hourly staff there is and make the salary sous do all the work. 65-75 hour work weeks means you make nothing an hour. Head chef just leaves around 6pm every nite without communication. I think ive seen him put a knife to a cutting board maybe a handful of times other than that he just sits in his office doom scrolling on his phone taping weed and chewing tobacco. Its horrible this company is awful. At the time the are being sued by the HOA for some breach of contract so there is that. I once needed HR. There is none on site so I called their number and got a voice recording with them following up with a phone call 3 months later Troon is awful. Im actively trying to leave dont join this company.
