Pros

Boutique firm. Partners actively involved in project delivery. Lots of free snacks and drinks.

Cons

Strategy consulting firm in name only, but actually a dressed-up market research shop where CYA is encouraged/preferred over making meaningful and impactful recommendations to clients. Mainly small potato-clients that may not have worked with a real strategy consulting firm to know the difference, which perhaps is only reason that company is still solvent. Boring, uninspiring, rote projects. Partners foster an entrenched insular culture where originality is stifled and cronyism is encouraged in order to progress. No wonder there has been a big exodus of talent. Company is a perfect exemplar of Peter's principle. You will learn nothing about being a good consultant here.

Pros

Smart and amicable people with a great culture. Career progression is rapid and steady as long as you are a good employee and deliver on projects.

Cons

Minimal adjustments for location and salarybenefit package is a bit lower than other consulting firms, but probably proportional to the hours worked.

Pros

there were positive experiences but the negatives overwhelmingly outweigh the positives

Cons

This may be the unique experience of an individual employee, however, TIG has proven to be a huge disappointment in its ability to carefully assess whether all new hires are equitably provided accommodations upon joining. After starting my role, I learned that that some of my peers who onboarded around the same time were offered extended delays (~2 MONTHS) to their start date, while I was requested to begin work ASAP without any relocation support, even though I was employed at the time of the offer and needed to move hundreds of miles. By being subjected to this negligence as a new employee, I was in essence set up to struggle with burning out from the challenging transition between jobs, and trying to understand and adapt to the company's numerous deficiencies in the initial several months of my role.
