Pros

-Micro-managing is not much of an issue -Casual and fun culture--surface-level interactions are largely pleasant, at least within the company -Hopefully will continue to grow after supply chain difficulties settle down, potentially good prospects in the coming years if they can get some issues worked out -They do have a mission that if you feel strongly about, is a good motivator to work (I do not like the military much so this was a downside for me personally)

Cons

-Cooperation between departments did not come easily--lots of different goals and priorities butting heads against each other, and since Sales always won because that's who the executives supported, it caused a lot of resentment among other departments. -Toxic environment hiding behind family facade--lots of weird tension and cliques. Definitely the type of place where you will be lowkey retaliated against for not participating in company social culture. Full disclosure, I have personal beef on this point as I was very unexpectedly and very cursorily laid off after being brought into a meeting under false pretenses, and I did not once get any communication from my supervisors after the fact. -I heard racist comments at least three times from coworkers and once heard a white coworker use the n-word. None of this was ever addressed, and I didn't bring it up because it seemed pointless. -Follow-up to the above, HR basically existed to say 'hey we have HR!'--the HR department does nothing, and I think that's how management likes it. -As one of the few female workers in the office, I was pretty much treated like a glorified secretary, especially by management, even though that was not at all my job description, and I also often had to contend with rudeness and condescension from customers. -While it is nice that there's not too much micromanagement, it also means that there are a lot of procedures undocumented and that your job description is a lot more flexible than it should be. Sometimes we were flying blind on process or two departments would have two different ideas of how a procedure is supposed to be executed, or because there was a task and no one could remember who used to do it, it would just get stuck with someone regardless of whether it was in their job description or fit with their duties. -Majority of upper management has no idea what goes on in the day-to-day of production, process, and order creation, which produced a lot of frustrations and complicated back-and-forths. -Sales' utter disregard for the impossibility of the timelines customers were expecting made things VERY stressful for production department -Lack of transparency from management down to everyone else--lots of beating around the bush. Honesty seemed to terrify the sales team. Lots of hushed conversations and talking behind peoples' backs. -Some jobs definitely could've and probably should've been remote or hybrid, but there was a weird lack of trust around that, which is kind of just a recurring them in general

Pros

Good work-life balance. The people there are easy to work with.

Cons

They operate like a small company even though they are a medium sized company. They have some growing pains. They also tend to rush development of their products.
