Pros

In my limited experience there is room for advancement The pay is competitive, or slightly higher than other insurers in the area Organization allows work/life balance to be achieved- Ability to work from home occasionally Ability to take the bus saves gas and parking expenses Still an in the office culture- majority of meeting are face to face- not over the phone

Cons

You have to pay for parking in Hartford or take the bus. During school season it takes me an hour by bus to travel the 12 miles in to hartford. Breaking the culture- the majority of folks who have been here 20+ years and don't even know what a Business Analyst is. I get slightly less vacation time than with UHC. Still an in the office culture- majority of meeting are face to face- not over the phone

Pros

I love working for Travelers. It has a strong culture built on integrity and collaboration. Leadership is visible, accessible, and genuinely invested in the success of the business and its employees. There are real opportunities to grow your career here — the company promotes from within and supports professional development in meaningful ways. I've seen colleagues advance significantly, and I've had the same opportunity myself. Travelers truly cares about its customers and the value insurance brings. Great team atmosphere and tremendous co-workers. **Cons:** The pace is fast and the workload can be demanding, especially in Claims. This is not a 9-to-5 environment, and candidates should come in knowing that. That said, the expectations are clear and the work is meaningful. **Advice to Management:** Keep doing what you're doing. The culture and leadership here are genuinely differentiated — don't lose that as the company continues to grow.

Cons

I don't consider it a con but some might - the pace is fast and the workload can be challenging, especially in Claims. Company is cutting edge so you should be prepared for change and continuous development to meet the business environment. That said, the expectations are clear and the work is meaningful. If you like to be challenged this is a great place to have a career.
