horrible owner, nice manager - Accountant Trap-Zap Environmental Systems Employee Review

Started here July 2020, lots of OT, good training, my mentor has been with the company 20 years, has a tremendous knowledge of the trade and has showed me many things. Flexible time off when I need it.

Fast paced service environment & after hours work in the field, good for some not for everyone.

The company has just celebrated its twenty-ninth year, and I my fourteenth anniversary here as did one of my coworkers in Connecticut we were hired the same month, there are several others in the company with similar or greater tenure which says something about the culture. The company is fair, has a long standing history and good retention of its clients and employees, I still service many of the same clients that I did when I first started in 2003. The owner steps outside the boundaries for those that are hardworking and committed. The company has extended loans to employees, offered extended vacation time when extra hours are required, has given mortgages to some long standing employees etc. I myself had an unrelated work surgery last year and was forced to be out of work for seven months, was paid my full salary not having to use any vacation time or file for insurance compensation.

By nature we are an emergency service company, so there are times when pressure levels run high. We have seen some growing pains over the last few years and as a result have had to fill some new positions, there have been applicants that have applied for a position that they could not handle or were not qualified for, in some cases they did not make it thru the probationary trail period, unfortunately some at termination were disgruntled resentful etc.
