One former employee's perspective on a large company - Senior Software Engineer Thomson Reuters Employee Review

Pros

The salary and benefits were very competitive. The vacation time/paid time-off was excellent. My immediate manager and his boss both fought for their people instead of for themselves. Reuters was a large company, and I was at the lower levels where I was shielded from a lot of the politics.

Cons

Software development at Reuters was a complete mess. Too many products were being developed in too many places, which eventually led to lots of layoffs. The entire company seemed very disjointed. When people were laid off, there was no thought given to performance, only to geographical location.
