Pros

Thermo Fisher is a leader in science so the innovation that they bring to the world is critical to the well being of our earth and human beings. Wearing many caps on the job has certainly presented many challenges and is beneficial to the learning curve. Thermo Fisher has a very highly educated workforce which enhances the company's overall ability to succeed.

Cons

The employee base is not respected or treated fairly, the demand to get to the bottom line is the only thing that seems to drive this company and is a numbers game rather than a true dedication to the wellness of society am afraid to say. Simple communication lacks and power runs in the hands of only a few although most of the workforce is highly educated only a few have power. The atmosphere is rigid, disrespectful and abruptly unfair to the employees due to constant long grueling hours by running so lean. The company continues to layoff people and the folks left are pushed to the limit by overwork. There is little or no mentoring and they patronize employees and treat them like children with rewards of pizza parties and icecream. Being treated fairly and not worked to the bone would be more rewarding than some insignificant reward that they think people need when what they really need is a workout room,a luncheon with some healthy food and the chance for a balanced work/life. Thermo Fisher is not a fun place to work, and the employee base is made up of some really nice folks who come and leave work each day in fear.

Pros

Since the company is big, it's a great opportunity for networking, learning new skills, and earning certificates after completing hazard safety training that you can use in the future as well (especially if you're working with Unity Lab Services). Coworkers are usually nice and will always lend a hand if you need it. If you're lucky, you might be placed at a one-person site where the site supervisor is chill and understanding, lets you work at your own pace, and helps you learn new things by giving you "side quests."

Cons

No real career growth. The workload can be hard to keep up with at times, and the company strictly enforces an 8-hour workday with no overtime, even when needed. Day-to-day operations feel heavily micromanaged by upper management through strict policies. HR introduces new policies almost monthly, often adding tasks that feel unnecessary. They frame this as becoming "more data-driven," but in practice, it hasn't led to much noticeable improvement.
