Pros

Really good opportunities and not to difficult to be promoted. The people you work alongside day to day are brilliant - very talented and fun - but management is screwed up.

Cons

I agree with the review here that says you need the health insurance… Work-life balance is terrible and way too many good, resilient people get signed off with stress. Terrible mismanagement of bullying too.

Pros

Tons of opportunities to chase stories and hone reporting skills. Interns are given a lot of responsibility and assumed to have a high competence level. Journalists in DC office are excellent and great mentors.

Cons

Some administrative work, but that's to be expected. Internships are not extended beyond their one semester term

Pros

Great team, who are determined to carry out traditional journalism. Great pay, with good benefits.

Cons

The same determination can lead to a toxic culture, no great socially and an expectation to work beyond your hours
