Pros

Very strong product that it is easy to stand behind as a manager Great spoken values that underline a desire to make people happy and create great hospitality experiences Chances for people to grow, learn, and develop

Cons

Operations focus takes away from the emotional health of the place Management can be hostile, mean, choose favorites. Not easy to see them as people who actually care about their employees.

Pros

Co-workers are generally cool and friendly You get to try the dishes Management really cares that you know their food and drink products Chefs do their best during busy shifts to make time and listen to the annoying server in the kitchen disturbing them with a problem that needs addressing and with little attitude...most of the time. Money is generally good most of the time. Most bussers and support staff work hard and aren't petty such as leaving material on the table for the waitstaff to pickup because "it's not their job"

Cons

Some waitstaff are "more equal" than others. Mostly bad and low-effort family meal most of the time. Low empathy from management and a general surface-level connectedness and understanding between management and waitstaff There is unspoken "hazing" for new waitstaff in the form of subtle disrespect and dislike by all the other waitstaff until you "prove" yourself. This is also done by both management and upper management in addition to the waitstaff to each other
