Pros

None I can think of

Cons

I had a very traumatic experience working as a server at Roxy restaurant. I was initially hired and encouraged to quit my job, which I did to start work at Roxy. After giving my two weeks notice to my current job, I went to start work at the Roxy only to find out that the person who hired me and encouraged me to quit my previous job had been terminated, but I went on to begin my training anyway. Right at the beginning of my fourth training shift, I was informed that they had decided not to move forward with my employment. I was not given a legitimate reason for being let go, and this left me in a terrible position as I had just left my previous job. The person who fired me was condescending and unprofessional, accusing me of having a 'lackadaisical attitude' and suggesting I should pursue my next job with more aggression, which is simply not true. They also claimed I should have disclosed my future travel plans, which I had mentioned only in passing to my trainer, as if it was a serious issue. The way they handled my termination was incredibly unfair and unprofessional. I was completely blindsided and left in a state of panic, as I had just quit my previous job and was now facing unemployment without warning. What's even more infuriating is that I was only shadowing during my training and had not yet been given the opportunity to take orders, so the managers had no chance to evaluate my skills or work ethic. Despite this, they made it seem as if they could tell I would be a bad worker. Furthermore, I was deeply disappointed by the lack of empathy and respect shown by managers when I went to discuss the situation with them. They gaslighted me and made me feel as if I had done something wrong, even though I had followed all of their instructions during training and had been courteous to every guest. They implied that it was my own fault for leaving my old job when I hadn’t “officially” been hired, yet I had already been put into the schedule and was on the payroll, and I had been encouraged by the person that hired me there to quit as well. It's clear to me that they were simply looking for an excuse to let me go after firing the manager who hired me. Overall, my experience at Roxy was a new low. I've worked in this industry for a long time and have experienced unfair treatment before, but the lack of professionalism and basic human decency shown by Roxy was appalling. If you want to be treated with respect and dignity, I suggest you look elsewhere for employment.

Pros

Lots of art, music, fairly good interior design. Energy of the space tends to feel good. Overall good value for the guests. Vision of upper management is brilliant.

Cons

Very demanding schedule. Upper management/ownership looks at numbers for some decisions and leans on relationships for others. Resulting in a lack of predictability for the decision making process. Outcomes are mixed. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.
