Pros

After an exhaustive search for a job where I can apply both my legal knowledge and marketing skills, The Recorder gave me an opportunity to really showcase my talent and work with a close-knit team. From management to sales and production - The Recorder really provided an environment to immerse yourself in every aspect of the publication - which if I may add - is a great asset to the legal community. The editorial and business staff work hand in hand to ensure that great content is always being put out - and is definitely the best legal read in the Bay Area. Management is very knowledgeable about the team's strengths and weaknesses and provides precise direction based on this but also allows for creative input; methods were always being refined and ideas were always well-received. Group work is encourage and I learned a great deal from the experience and knowledge of my peers. Personal life is more than accommodated for as well, and management very supportive. Hands down the best workplace - if you see an opening, take it.

Cons

The only con I had about this position is that I had to relocate and couldn't continue working with the team longer.

Pros

If I could base this review on co workers alone I would give it a 5 star rating but that's just a fools fantasy. It's strange because there are a lot of of good people with brilliant minds along with amazing writers there settling for %#$!@.

Cons

You will have to train yourself because everyone is way too busy wearing 5 different hats to stay afloat. Nobody has time to help you understand the daily processes or protocol. Its all about learning the hard way. Debbie Downer runs the place with a bad attitude and superiority complex. And brush up on playing guessing game to figure out what they want management wants you to do because its going to change by noon and again at 1 then 2 and so on. I was honestly amazed that they were able to slap together a crappy publication that nobody reads to run every week.
