Pros
- LSC has a brilliant training programme. We have two specific training weeks per year and there are always very relevant, applicable, and helpful trainings offered to us.
- As mentors, we manage our own caseloads.
- We have an incredibly supportive office team. Emails are always responded to very promptly, and everyone is happy to help.
- Opportunities for career development: there are always opportunities to get involved. For example, I have supported throughout exam season doing reading, scribing, and prompting which I've not done before. I have also been able to attend events with the team too; for example, neurodiversity celebration week, and a university careers fair. I also began as a Specialist Mental Health Mentor, and am now also an ASC mentor too,
- LSC are very supportive of staff mental health and wellbeing, ensuring we feel supported.
- We receive 6-weekly supervision.
- Yearly Professional Development Reviews to discuss our development and goals.
- Opportunities to meet with the team for catch-ups.
- Opportunity for a hybrid working approach, both face-to-face and virtual.
