Pretty much everything else. Not a meritocracy at all! Performance means less than willingness to toe the company line on everything. The company is run by a small number of (mostly female) former employees at The Advisory Board, who couldn't hack it there and are importing some of the worst behaviors from that firm to HMA. The sales and account management teams are particularly known for backbiting, politics, and terrible management. Senior and midlevel leaders with new or different ideas are quickly ushered out.
