Best place to start - Test Analyst The Distance Employee Review

Pros

So I started my first ever test analyst role in the distance, the Director and my manager were fantastic in helping me grow. The staff are fantastic, the developers, project managers, and the Ba were always kind and put up with my horrible attempt at jokes. The place is cozy and has a very nice atmosphere

Cons

Sometimes the amount of workload could be overwhelming, and the deadlines. This is me writing this because I absolutely had to but I very much enjoyed it.

I'm glad we were able to support you on your new career path. Thanks for the advice, it's always a hard balance being in the office and visiting clients and I'm sure you imagined. We're hoping to employ a BDM later this year which will give me a lot more facetime with the team.

Pros

I thoroughly enjoyed working for The Distance and was sad to go. For me the benefits were: * Diverse and friendly team * Great office culture * High spec equipment * Ensured we had all equipment needed to work comfortably and efficiently at home * Varied and interesting projects * Regular social meet ups (pre covid) * Well defined process for new business and lifecycle of project * Learn a lot and gain a lot of experience through the variety of projects * Training courses available to employees * Regular company meetings on state of business and forum to express views and suggestions * MD is very creative and active in the company which leads to an influx of interesting and industry varied projects * Company take mental health and wellbeing very seriously, there was always someone I could talk to if needed

Cons

There's not many cons I can think of; * Not a lot of time for learning/training during working hours, need to learn on your feet often - the plus side is you learn a lot and gain experience quickly, but can be a bit stressful * Work pace is quite fast and varies on a daily basis - I enjoyed this, but it's not to everyone's taste * During the pandemic, while WFH - Work-life balance could be hard to maintain, but management are approachable and empathetic. * Perks package could be improved
