Pros
From the onboarding process to the day-to-day interactions, it is clear, DSM is about the people. The camaraderie and support among the team are second to none, and management genuinely cares about the people and expresses their appreciation and support regularly.
From the day I started, I have been supported by not only my direct manager but the entire team. If I have a question, I know I can ask it without judgment, and if I need a hand, there is always someone willing to help.
The work/life balance is well respected, and the team understands that life happens, and everyone accommodates as best they can when things arise. As long as you're getting your work done, they're flexible.
DSM provides extensive training and professional development opportunities for the team and encourages us to seek out opportunities to expand our skills.
The atmosphere in the office is casual and collaborative, where the best idea wins whether it's from the new person or a director. There is a genuine work hard but have fun mentality that brings a positive energy to the agency.
Cons
Based on my experiences at other agencies, there are no cons to working at DSM.
To reiterate what others have noted, DSM is a fast-paced, hard-working crew. If you are looking for a place to coast, DSM isn't it.
