Research any article on toxic work culture and it will sum up the current status of the Bay Club. There is micromanaging to the nth degree, including conference calls 7 days/week. Employees are asked for their honesty and feedback and then publicly shamed and bullied after giving it. Little to no praise for a job well done and more public humiliation for any misstep. They will use the equity "perk" as the reason for why they don't offer 401k match, holiday pay, annual raises, etc. despite only a very small percentage of employees actually being a part of the equity benefit, certainly not the front-line staff that actually make these clubs operate. The CEO works 24/7 and expects that every salaried employee do the same despite preaching about work/life balance. The company has recently made some smart hires from the outside except in the one area it is lacking the most: HR, where the current leadership is homegrown so that the the bullying culture can continue to thrive; there is no HR structure.
