Pros

TL;DR interesting work & good people - Huge umbrella company, easy to move to other units(they moved almost my entire team to Bell after losing a contract) - Management values results & individual contributions - Very enjoyable projects - Fantastic coworkers - Room to shine in responsibilities beyond your job title & learn - Very cheap health insurance(~30/mo for single person) and excellent benefits overall. I am lucky to have a good boss. His shielding of upper management’s stupid decisions alone keeps me from giving it a lower rating.

Cons

Absolutely abhorrent upper management. Their direction has led to what feels like constant rounds of layoffs and a revolving door of talent. - Far too many levels between individual contributors and business unit leadership. - Absolutely no money spent on retaining talent. - Out of touch work from home policy that nobody listens to - Zero horizontal integration. Land/Sea/Air are completely distinct and share nothing. There is an active effort to change this though. - Hinted at bonuses/compensation for overtime work, then hit most of those people with layoffs/moves - Oh, and no annual bonuses. Pay is pretty good but not what you’d usually consider “defense contractor pay”

Pros

Friendly people at the lower levels. Great at putting up with lots of nonsense and “pivoting”.

Cons

No effort in employee retention. Lots of employees leaving (whether by their own choice or not) yet there is very little effort in finding replacements, leading to higher work loads with no increase in compensation. Pay is uncompetitive and raises and nowhere near enough to make up the difference.
