Pros
- Friendly co-workers - I was able to do a lot of great work for my teammates during the time that I was there - Relaxed office culture - new office setting really helped with this - Recurring meetings with manager to discuss performance - Company provided training to teammates on Amazon Web Services and Agile Scrum - All of the interns that worked at the same location appeared to do meaningful work for their respective teams. I'd recommended it for students who want to do meaningful work - Work/life balance: company really likes to focus on this. It was nice being able to go home at a little after 5pm on nearly all of the days I worked - 401k: it's pretty good for full time employees
Cons
- I was more of a consultant than an intern at the company. My teammates asked me to come up with software solutions to problems they had, and I implemented them - It was not always clear who I could go to in order to get the help I needed to do the work I was assigned - Was not assigned a mentor that could help me with technical problems - I don't easily see how I would be able to advance into a higher position if I decided to join the company full time
