Pros

The plant had good contracts with opportunities for growth.

Cons

One of the worst plants I’ve ever seen from a safety standpoint. Oil flowed freely out of equipment and the floor sweeper was how they cleaned the oil up instead of fixing the leaks. There was limited to no preventative maintenance done with most equipment run until it was broken. Most of the equipment is 50+ years old and in need of complete rebuild. The maintenance crews were good people but didn’t have the training, tools, parts or support of leadership to do the right things to keep the plant healthy. The Maintenance Manager was an Engineer with limited maintenance experience and his leadership skills were horrid as he constantly trying to force his way with the union with no focus on making the plant safer or more productive. The Maintenance Supervisor was better but unstable so depending on the day he could be spot on or yelling at everyone. Any time anyone brought up a suggestion or exposed his failures as a supervisor, he would lose it and berate the person. Some of the people that worked with the Supervisor for years in other roles said ‘he”s always been like that and HR doesn’t want to do anything about it’. The Production side of the plant was better run but with the old equipment and poor support from the Maintenance Department it was hard for them to meet production requirements.

Pros

Good pay , good benefits

Cons

This Tenneco is not like the other TENNECO’s around the world, this particular place can’t keep a plant manager for longer than 1-2 years, because their entire management is completely corrupt and back stabbing people, they constantly are changing upper management positions around to find unqualified and unsuccessful ways to try and make things better ?? This is a joke , they back stab their employees that are not a part of their group of corrupt people, the management makes up their own policies and completely ignore the corporate policies ?? One manager will always give more power to an employee they love, and others will throw the book at them when that manager doesn’t like the employee? These managers are a complete failure to the company and all need to be fired and new managers should take over, also this company is so dirty and disgusting, the CEO of Tenneco should come see this horrible particular facility and take action against the corrupt people
