The majority of people there are lovely, friendly, and helpful most of the time. The management teams are open about what is happening in the wider business. Various perks and events.
Cons
There is a horrible culture of working beyond your contract at Tembo. Not just within the Brokers, who you might expect to be working longer hours, but in other departments too. There is also a huge lack of support or infrastructure set up when it comes to personal issues. I had to take time off work due to mental health issues, issues that Tembo were aware of but that were NOT caused by the job, and their response was to fire me. This then snowballed into much deeper troubles, which ultimately led me to consider genuinely taking my own life. It’s a shame, because Tembo is such a progressive company, but will apparently not hesitate to discriminate against you if you need extra help.
