Pros
The company is still doing very cutting edge work in most parts of the company. Salary is competitive and crunch time is minimal. Lots of experienced engineers to learn from. Benefits are still very good too, including six weeks of paid time off including holidays. Everybody's heard of Tektronix, so the name is good on a resume, too.
Cons
Budget is king and spending money is heavily discouraged, so research and development (a formerly big component of expenditures) is highly limited. The constant push for efficiency as mandated by the parent company (Danaher) has eliminated the 'Tek culture' which was a mainstay of working there during the prior 30+ years. Employee turnover is very high; a mixture of layoffs and employees leaving for better opportunities has gutted core talent in multiple business units.
