Pros
I worked at TechniPower a little over 2 years, started as account manager and was promoted to branch manager after about 9 months. When I read the reviews of the former EE’s that didn’t do well there, I’d say 95% of them don’t have strong work ethics. I knew nothing of recruiting, engineers, drafters or designers going in, but I did exactly what the director of sales, at that time told me to do. You have to have thick skin, you have to work hard everyday and you can’t stop! I owe everything to TPI and mostly my director of sales, as she lead, by EXAMPLE every day. TPI exposed my strengths that I didn’t realize I had and now my career has exponentially taken off. I will always have a position in sales because of the skills I learned there. And for the people who wrote horrible reviews about TPI, those who will read this and say “well he was one of the ones that got a good territory or I sucked up to the right people or had the recruiters working all my stuff”..... after reading my pros about TPI keep in mind that TechniPower fired me. So in summation to my pro list, if you are a young professional and seeking a career path, I absolutely recommend a career with TPI, if you’re ready to work.
Cons
After taking my skills to other recruiting agencies, I’d say that TPI could use some updated technologies to utilize for recruiters (resources for cycling candidates) and the salesman (software for info about companies). It is as easy as picking up the phone and having a conversation with the hiring manager, but to be more strategic with the call, can be more effective and efficient.
