Pros

CEO helps his employees when they are in need.

Cons

This company may seem like a great small business to outsiders and guests, but those who work there know the dirty secrets. To start with, people are promised things that will not happen for years. This company has a few departments and these departments are known as the “paper dept.”, “board dept.”, “portfolio dept.”, “hand dept.”, “shipping dept.”, “Emmeci dept.” and others not worth mentioning, like the offices (because they have it all). Portfolio, hand, shipping, paper and board department do not have air conditioning and during summer it is hell, there are not enough fans for everyone and they don’t seem to care about it. Company is always dirty and smells bad in all aspects... while the management and administration offices all have A/C, and all the comfort they need. There’s a no eating or drinking policy (except for water in the coffee mug provided by the company). You have to work there from 7am to 4pm and you only get two breaks (15 mins and 35 mins). The environment there is toxic and certain people have done things that other companies wouldn’t accept, but no one gets fired. Especially people with management connections. There’s no organization or planning for projects. Everything is done at the last minute and people are pressured to finish it fast. They promise the clients a 100% on time production, that’s so far from the truth as well. The company was still producing products from 2016 on 2017. Way overdue! Taylor Box Company gives tours to clients which is fine, but they also give tours to schools and big crowds without letting the people working there know beforehand (SURPRISE!). They also take photos and videos of you working without your consent... go figure. There are so many CONS for this company; the biggest con is that there is no room for improvement. You are stuck with the same position for as long as you work there. They might open positions from time to time, but they will never take you seriously. They rather hire people from the outside, than train their own employees that have been with the company for year and already know most of the process and how everything works. Benefits? None to outside of the office workers. Once a year deposit to the 401k, but that's not even done every year. They expect you to work overtime when needed.

Pros

- Design driven company - Work with top brands, creative agencies and local companies to make cool packaging - Great local and national reputation - Manufacturing everything on-site in Rhode Island (100% domestic manufacturing) - Skilled/talented coworkers, many of whom have been with the company 15+ years - Award winning for rigid paperboard packaging - Great company leadership--- kept us afloat through the recession, is always buying new machinery and updating the factory to keep us competitive, regularly does fun stuff to keep things cheery, provides education/training for engaged employees, have a Suggestion Box for anonymous recommendations, ISO certification.... really great leadership! - Annual summer party and holiday party with awesome prizes for all employees - 401k program with annual contribution for all full-time employees and bonuses when year is good - Health care (BCBSRI) with flex card with Company match for all full time employees - Paid holidays for all full time employees - Unlimited sick leave for all full time employees

Cons

- Periodic chaos when things are busy (sometimes we need to hire temps who aren't trained box makers, but for the most part everyone is a full time packaging employee) - Demanding clientele (but thats also a plus because they are high quality). - Difficult work (every job is custom, so each project is its own challenge).
