Pros

Flexible schedule Relaxed office environment. I felt most of management was very nice, although I got the impression they did a lot of smack talk behind people’s back. The company parties they threw were nice too (free beer!)

Cons

The interviewer will really sell you on their “amazing” pay structure, but it’s a false flag. You’ll make minimum wage and the receive an increase in that wage depending on if you are hitting 80%, 90%, or 100% of goal. These wages scale up from the WI minimum wage of $7.50 to $8/hr, $9/hr, and $10/hr. There is also the commission structure. However, you need to raise over $1,500 in a pay period starting out in order to get paid on any commission. If you hit this “goal,” your goal will raise until it seemingly becomes unreachable. What I’ve described is a standard sales job, right? Why am I complaining? It’s the quality of leads. After your 2 weeks of training, they’ll throw you in a campaign with leads from people who bought a single ticket to a performance 3+ years ago. And you’re expected to convince them to buy these ticket packages worth hundreds of dollars. Only if you can prove your worth on these garbage leads will you be given the high end leads such as renewals. But by then, your bonus structure will have almost become unreachable. I almost feel I lucked out with the success I had rather than have it been a merit to how good of a salesman I was. The best pay period I ever had was $12.50/hr (my hourly wage plus my bonus divided by the total hours worked). It was very stressful and I ended up quitting the job to go back to my no-pressure fundraising position at $9.50-hr. Sure I made less, but I knew how much I’d be making every 2 weeks rather than worrying if I would have a job if I had one bad pay period. You’ll be lucky if even 1/4th of your training class remains after the first month. The turnover rate is insane. I couldn’t handle the stress of wondering if I would be employed in a few weeks. I would only have a job like this if you have a more steady job elsewhere. Broke college students or anyone relying on this job to pay rent, beware!
