Pros
Unfortunately I am struggling to name any pros other than the people you support and seeing them progress positively.
Cons
Management are VERY clicky and if anything goes wrong will turn it onto support workers even when it’s their decisions that have impacted. Induction process is diabolical. No structured training or regular support sessions to help you settle into your role. You’re just left to “get on with it” and expected to just know what to do. Then it comes back to bite you when you’ve not completed tasks that you didn’t know about. The company have absolutely 0 care in your well being. It’s a mentally challenging job at times and the only thing Target managers say for support is “you’ve got Westfield care you can access”. Everything is a tick box but they don’t actually care. Clients welfare is the last thing they prioritise. It’s all about voids and making sure they don’t lose money. It’s a very negative company to work for and it’s mentally tiring. Nothing you do is good enough and you’re never appreciated for the hard work you put in.
