Taft Communications

Is this your company?

It was so bad I want to give it a zero. But that’s not possible so I have to give it a one. - Admin Assistant Taft Communications Employee Review

Pros

If you enjoy a toxic, discriminatory, unsafe work environment this is definitely a good place for you. If you don't have a heart, you will fit right in.

Cons

This is BY FAR the worst place I have worked at. Absolutely no competitive salary. Absence of diversity, equity, AND inclusion in ALL aspects of company "culture." Young/entry-level employees do not have ANY chance at a career trajectory and sr. management will put ALL their efforts into keeping you where they THINK you should be: exactly where you started. They will smile in your face then plot your termination behind your back and make up some random reason to "justify" it. If you are a young BIPOC individual seeking employment here...PLEASE PLEASE PLEEEEASE look elsewhere unless you would like to be constantly disregarded and disrespected. This is NOT the place for you and you will be pushed out which will result in a cycle of despair + frustration. I can guarantee that you will quit or they will fire you near your year mark. Now if you're not a BIPOC individual and this doesn't raise any red flags for you. Just think about where the workload goes when these employees are fired or hastily resign due to the mental health strain of working here.

Taft Communications Response
3y
We sincerely regret that a former employee, who was terminated, views Taft this way. Our leadership strives to support a sense of belonging and to contribute positively to the success and professional development of each employee. The firm consistently seeks and receives constructive feedback from all members of the team on everything we do, including our commitment to justice, diversity, equity and inclusion. The environment described in this post is counter to Taft's principles and contrary to our values. We don’t agree with its characterizations. Like most organizations, we are a work in progress – focusing on continuous growth, self-awareness and compassion as essential to success.

Pros

Taft is full of seasoned, genuine and knowledgeable folks - whether you're just starting out in your communications career, or you're a seasoned pro with a niche focus area, Taft is an incredible place to learn from - and grow with - the best. They truly believe in their clients' missions, visions and values, and they're equally committed to putting more "good" into the world, which is not always something you'll find at other firms. They have very strong ties to their home state of NJ which is reflected in their new, fresh office space. With a variety of accounts to work on, tons of opportunities for professional development, and a fun working environment, Taft is the place to be.

Cons

Some longer hours and fire drills requiring quick action just like any other agency dedicated to client service, but nothing unmanageable or extensive.
