Pros
Perfect for people who have good social skills. Lots of interaction with the general public and stakeholders. Uniform allowance. Meh.
Cons
Constantly scrutinized and tested daily. Lots of micromanaging. Low morale. Lazy co workers. Budget cuts. All contributing to a ridiculously high attrition rate resulting in an inexperienced and inefficient workforce. A great example of a failed "pay for performance system". Supervisors and leads have little or no leadership skills and can be rude. Not part of the GS pay system. Many different things to re certify annually for or face termination.
