Pros
Benefits were decent. You definately needed the $5,000 for psychotherapy/therapy after employment here. Only real pro was the working from home.
Cons
If you work in the call center you are not allowed to hang up on abusive customers. Telus added in 2023 to their ethics policy that it is now deemed an ethics violation to hang up on any customer, including abusive ones. Creating a toxic work environment, leading to numerous employees having mental health crisises sadly. Management will do anything to get rid of unionized onshore agents. My position In their mobility escalations team when I first started was 100percent onshore in Canada. Then in March 2023 they trained a large group of offshore agents in the Philippines. Then in May 2023 4,000 severance packages were offered to onshore unionized reps. If you did not take the severance package, Management would harass you to the point of either quitting, finding something to terminate your employment or forcing you to accept a secondary package offer. Telus no longer gives where they live as one of their slogans....now they only give to offshore agents whom are underpaid, overworked, but made to feel like they should be greatful for their jobs. Not knowing the impact to the agents that devoted numerous(almost 20 for me) of years of being a dedicated hard worker.
