Pros
I worked for the company for 3+ years and was promoted 5 times within the first 2 years. The pay, pto, and benefits were average.
Cons
I was promised a promotion for 1 1/2 years and was never promoted because Telus was going through so many transitions and layoffs. Instead of laying off a higher up team that didn’t align with the business model, they placed them into roles they weren’t suited for and had no experience in. I ended up training the person who took my promotion and then he ended up quitting 30 days later. 5 months later I still didn’t get the promotion. My boss flat out told me to start looking for jobs elsewhere because she wasn’t sure the company had a future in 5+ years. I loved my boss and my team. I was AMAZING at my job but the company didn’t recognize that. The client loved me and the participants would ask for me specifically so I know I was doing something right but I got tired of doing the same work as a team lead for none of the pay. I ended up leaving and getting a job at a new company who values my time, skills, and effort. I would NOT recommend working for Telus to anyone. The schedule is strict and no leniency for breaks, emergencies, or mental health concerns. There is no such thing as work life balance with this company. I was completely burnt out after putting my all into a company who didn’t care about their employees unless they were super high up on the chain of command.
