Lack of Leadership - Anonymous employee TCS Education Employee Review

TCS is a really nice environment to work in, they actually treat their employees very well. When I worked their they had a social hour every month, where they provided you with food/wine etc. they also have an amazing Christmas party every year. The CEO is very personable, and he will get know you by name. I really felt valued there.

The pay could be better, and the service level agreements are not realistic. TCS Ed Systems is a service provider. As a provider to other university systems, we were required to turn work around within 24 hours, for multiple colleges, which is not enough time, you often had to work after hours to meet the service level agreements, which is taxing but you are paid overtime. if you have small children working over time could be an issue.

Great co-workers, the supervisor doesn't micromanage the team, and the compensation is definitely good compared to many other higher education ID roles. The company has been functioning with fully remote employees for many years which means there is a lot of securing in that it won't be changed. The workload is manageable, and the supervisors seem to care about the employees more so than a lot of other places. Decent amount of PTO given starting the second year of employment.

There is one mandatory annual meeting in Chicago which can be difficult for anyone who is providing full-time care to an aging parent or a small child and has limited support system to assist in these duties. Also, the annual goals at the end of the year are used for pay increases which means there is a subjective view on performance that could be driven more so by company budget limitations than one's actual work performance. Medical and dental insurance options are not the best.
