Pros

Great mission to improve health outcomes for a needy and deserving community. Frontline staff is typically pleasant in interface with local community. Nancy is pleasant.

Cons

Where to begin? I’ll keep it light: 1) Senior leadership does not possess the adequate training and education to lead an fqhc; 2) Senior leadership knows enough to play the game but not exceed expectations; 3) Senior leadership appears to have poor staff management and development skills, given the low morale and high turn-around; 4) Senior leadership appears to be threatened or intimidated by knowledgeable, experienced persons who actually express interest in joining this fiasco; 5) Administrative practices and company culture have been responsible for turning off and running away several outstanding candidates for an organization and community that truly need competence, intelligence and dedication; 6) Human Resources practices are among the worst I’ve seen in the industry and besides what is kept from the board, is over their heads or, curiously, not of concern to them, some of the practices are cringeworthy. In short, it’s a wonder this place hasn’t had it’s pants sued off; 7) Not unlike many places, hiring seems to prefer a small, incestuous network but for social service providers in this community - with its matrix of health and economic disparity grounded in long-term underinvestment and environmental racism - it should be an imperative to bring in new talent with training and experience in diverse settings. TCA, unfortunately, does not favor this; its preference is to bring people in via its limited social network based on control-ability or friendship and not competence or experience or even trainability; 8) Does the nutritionist CEO even know half the stuff happening in the organization? Does she know, for example, what the recruitment practices are? How certain user functions could be optimized to improve both health outcomes AND revenues? What about best practices in recruitment and other Human Resources functions?; 9) Expansion? What a mess. This seems woefully premature and based more on a model presumed to increase revenues than anything else. Management staff are already paid significantly more than frontliners and if this expansion works, senior leadership/management will probably benefit more yet again. I don’t know what it would take to change the culture and morale of this organization but the community truly deserves better than what TCA currently offers. Nice frontline people is an asset but excellent customer service should be expected and not rewarded. And it is possible to surround one’s self with smart - even, smarter - people and still be extolled. That is, if they are not mistreated.

Pros

Great medical benefits, And this location is a great place for all your medical needs!!

Cons

The only downside I had, just wasn't enough pay. Hourly wage wasn't enough based on my experience and jobs duties I would definitely still work there if the pay was better!!!

Pros

Staff have a friendly and pleasant disposition.

Cons

Administration does not participate in positive interactions with the staff. Very rude, and disrespectful. They attempt to publicly humiliate the staff in front of their peer.
