The lack of funding in the US Corrections space (County Jails / State Prisons) and an inability to afford investing in recent Offender Management software solutions (OMS) has put significant pressure on all OMS Vendors to generate the revenue necessary to sustain operations. At Syscon specifically, this has lead to continuous lay-offs.
Furthermore, Management's inability to plan & execute the roll-out of their next generation solution hurt their reputation and market share in the OMS industry. I understand they still haven't released the product - 3 years after the original release date.
I would have to caution others considering a career at Syscon - you shouldn't expect to be there for more than a year after being hired.
