Pros
- Strong focus on culture and finding good cultural fit in new hires.
- Everyone strives every day to adhere to the company-defined core values.
- Lots of self-organization and independent cross-training.
- Lots of recognition of individuals for skill and performance.
- Almost all of the employees work remotely 100% of the time and are spread across the globe.
Cons
I don’t consider any of these to be cons outright. Every fiber of this company’s being is focused on having happy customers, having happy employees, and making money while doing it. But, the culture is what it is and it won’t be a good fit for everyone.
- The work is fast-paced and dynamic. Not very predictable.
- Management approach is very hands-off, and you’re expected to take the initiative and push forward independently.
- Sometimes (not often) you will need to help with tasks outside of your normal job description.
- The company is actively growing and there are frequent organizational changes.
- Being globally distributed means your phone will be buzzing well after 5PM. Managing work/life balance takes some self-discipline and effort.
