Pros
- Amazing work/life balance, I have personally never been with a company that is more flexible than this - Leadership works their butts off, contrary to a lot of your standard "tech" leaders in the industry the leaders at synapse will not hesitate to jump into the weeds during situations, and any time you need something generally they are very quick to respond no matter the day or hour (sometimes) - Insurance/benefits are decent, nothing super special but medical is covered 100% for individuals which is nice and dental and vision are very affordable - Technology is accelerating within the organization at a good rate, and it seems that teams are never afraid to try something new - Culture is very positive and people within the organization are all very open minded, welcoming, and accepting - Another part of the culture is everyone seems to be working towards the same goal of doing things the right way, and not "half...efforting" it - 100% permanently remote organization (which is nice in the age of corporate return to office mandates, yuck) - Each team has their own way of working, and that's good that cohesion is at a team level and everyone isn't necessarily forced to "fall in line" teams work in ways that work for them as a team - There isn't much ego, people really listen to your feedback and input and take it seriously - Free two weeks off at the end of the year around the holiday season...you don't even have to take your vacation time for it and you get paid. Best perk and hope it doesn't go away ever.
Cons
- Pay could be better, I think the market and inflation is surpassing what synapse is currently paying out - Bonuses have been withheld for a bit now, unfortunate, but not game-changing - Since the company is small, depending on your title and your team, potential upward momentum in the future could be uncertain, although this is probably an issue unique to certain positions
