Pros

Work from home, food in cafetaria

Cons

Culture is becoming very aggressive, and senior employees are leaving the company now. I left a great job to join Swiss Re, a very very bad decision that I repent each day. Your survival depends upon the person you are supporting from Bangalore. Unfortunately, I support a stubborn person, who has complicated everything, while my colleagues have very friendly and helpful counterparts, and enjoy working. I was placed with a very non-cooperative colleague, in a Division which no one wanted to be a part of and a counterpart who is difficult. Basically, I was dealt a hard hand, and was expected to outperform, since my salary is supposedly high. The systems in this company are a hot mess, there are 100s of complicated systems, of which even the seniors in my team aren't aware. It is very very easy to make errors and goof-up when you work here.

We’re glad the culture and supportive colleagues have been meaningful in your experience. We know large organisations can sometimes feel complex, and we're constantly working to simplify decision making where possible. Thank you for your review.

Pros

1. 12% 401k match 2. Amazing co workers in the trenches but this is rapidly changing as people look for the exits.

Cons

1. Management - the new management team has a maximum personal bonus / profit only mindset. Cost cutting reigns. 2. Constant layoffs. No job is safe. 3. Company has offshored many jobs to India and is in a race to move key underwritering, engineering, claims functions to India as well. Overall, it feels more like a private equity gut job than a publicly traded company.
