Very great start to the company, growing quick and a lot of potential with a lot of open doors for opportunity.

A base salary would help keep people on the doors

Swift had a a proven track record as a small/mid-sized O&G producer with prime acreage at the time.

Swift had severe hiring problems: many of the senior executives were "friends and family"hires, most of the new talent was just out of school and planning a quick exit to a higher paying firm after being trained, and support staff was taking on a disproportionate share of work because of poor accountability.
