Cons
The biggest con and cautionary note really is if you're headed into a part-time position you're mostly covering the times the manager is not available. Since you aren't usually working with the manager, they go off of what they hear from others and will take any somewhat negative opinion as is, without having really been able to assess the validity of meaningfulness of those thoughts, and you will get dismissed for it if they overall feel that they could get a better person for the position.
