Pros
Was really a great company to work for when I first started. Great salary, a relatively close drive (40-45 minutes on a good traffic day) but that's Chicago. Now that Paychex has taken over day-to-day operation, my outlook really changed (see cons).
Cons
Training is minimal. A lot of undocumented processes or in essence "fly by the seat of your pants" mentality which in some cases led to disastrous results, especially when dealing with client's complex tax issues. In my department, I had to deal with individuals who "dump and run" issues on your lap and expected you to fix it., even though it's not your responsibility. I presented many issues like this to my manager who shrugged his shoulders and just took it on even though it just added more to the pile.
